Specifications:

Security Explorer
Security Explorer is a powerful and intuitive utility to search for and modify Windows NT security on NTFS drives, the Registry, and Shares. It is possible to search across subdirectories for permissions, and grant, revoke, and clone permissions across subdirectories without affecting any other user's permissions. Up to 50 shares on a server can be selected and permissions can be granted to multiple users and groups simultaneously. Permissions can be exported to a database for further analysis and reporting, or they can be backed-up and restored as necessary. Ownership can also be set on files and directories. Security Explorer seamlessly integrates into the Windows NT 4.0 Desktop (so the right-click option is available to obtain menus). Security Explorer makes finding security holes and filling them a snap!

Distinguishing Features:
Enterprise Scopes - Target multiple drives and servers for a single operation. For example, instead of being limited to search a single drive for a user's permissions, now you can set up an enterprise scope to search across your entire domain.

Command line support - Full command line support for the "Clone", "Export", "Grant", and "Backup" functions. Other functions will be available shortly. Schedule backups of all permissions on your network easily, or run a batch file every night to export a summary of your permissions to any ODBC database.

Administrator override permissions - Security Explorer's advanced technology allows an administrator to view and modify file permissions without having access to the file. You will never have to 'Take Ownership' again.

Fully integrated with the Windows NT Desktop - Including Windows NT Explorer, "My Computer" and "Network Neighborhood" * Grant, Revoke, and Clone permissions across subdirectories without affecting any other group or user's permissions.

Backup and restore file permissions - Backup permissions from a command line 'SBackup.exe' - and restore them to the same or separate location. (including files to which you do not have access)

View open files on an entire server or only files opened under a specific path on your network.

Set ownership of files and directories. (No more need for 'take ownership')

Search for permissions on a particular group or user across your network. You can search on the owner or the permissions of the object. Output the results to a comma/ quote delimited file.
Export permissions to any ODBC Database.

Clone permissions to a new group or user. This feature is especially helpful when migrating servers or collapsing/expanding domains.

Secure Copy

Secure Copy permits seamless migration, allowing an administrator to copy files and directories on NTFS partitions while keeping the security intact, creating shares, and migrating local groups. All of this functionality is available in an easy to use GUI, which keeps you updated on copy progress, as well as any errors that may occur. Secure Copy also includes functionality such as differential copying, full command line support, saving multiple jobs, and scheduling jobs to run after hours.

Distinguishing Features:
Retain security while you copy - If you use Windows NT Explorer or the copy and xcopy commands to copy files, the file permissions are not copied with the file. However, with Secure Copy, you can move the files along with their permissions.

Create shares while copying - Migrate existing shares on the source server to the destination server. As Secure Copy copies each folder, it first checks to see if that folder is shared. If so, Secure Copy will create the share on the destination server and copy the permissions to the share. This outstanding feature alone makes Secure Copy worth the investment.

Migrate local groups while copying - Secure Copy is the only tool available that will migrate local groups while copying files. (A local group is local to the machine it was created on.) If a local group has permissions on a file in your source server, Secure Copy will create the local group on the destination server and modify the permissions list on the destination file to reflect the newly created local group. If you were to use the "scopy.exe" program in the NT resource kit, every local group would appear as "Account Unknown" in the destination file's permissions list. If the local group name already exists on the destination server, you can be prompted for a new name or select a prefix or suffix naming convention.

Full Command Line Support - Secure Copy is fully functional directly from the command line. Usage : SecureCopy.exe SourceFolder DestinationFolder [-s] [-o] [-a] [-q] [[-l] LogFilePath] [[[-fs] FSOption] PrePostFix] [[[-lg] LGOption] PrePostFix] Full command line documentation is available with the help file included with the trial download.

Enterprise Security Reporter

Enterprise Security Reporter is a powerful tool designed to get answers to the questions you have about your network. By combing through the vast amount of data on your network and storing it in an open database, you now have the ability to analyze, query and report on the security and configuration of your network. Enterprise Security Reporter's one of a kind functionality - Delta Permissions Reporting - takes the manual labour out of viewing security.

Using the tools that come with Microsoft Windows NT, you quickly realise that it is nearly impossible to gather the necessary information to produce the reports you need. Enterprise Security Reporter provides you an easy and efficient way to get the data and produce reports that give you the answers you need. Enterprise Security Reporter has full support for Windows 2000's NTFS inheritance model.

Distinguishing Features:
Create unique summarised permissions reports - Enterprise Security Reporter's exclusive Delta Permissions ReportingTM technology targets and reports permission changes on folders and files that differ from those of its parent folder, enterprise wide.

Great Report Support - Featuring reports developed using Seagate Software's Crystal Reports, our reports can be exported to numerous formats and even emailed to others.

Support for Microsoft Access Reports - By natively supporting Microsoft Access reports, we allow you complete flexibility in developing your own reports in a tool most people are familiar with, and then letting you run these reports from the Enterprise Security Reporter interface.

Scalable Data Discovery - Using either a centralised data discovery agent or distributed data discovery agents, Enterprise Security Reporter can accommodate both small and large networks without becoming intrusive.

Remote Agent Installation - Install the agents on remote servers without having to log onto the server itself.

Open Database - Enterprise Security Reporter uses Microsoft's SQL Server 7 or the scaled-down Microsoft Data Engine as its back-end database. This means you can use any tool you want to connect to and query the data. The ESR database is fully documented so you can write your own queries and reports.

Parameterised Queries - When building your own queries, you can define custom parameters that will prompt the user for information as the query is being run. This provides a much greater level of flexibility, and doesn't tie you down to writing queries with hard-coded information.

Enterprise Scopes - What do you do when you have one-hundred servers discovered, but you only want to run a query against ten of them? You define an Enterprise Scope including those ten servers, and add the scope to your query. This puts more control back in your hands!

Browse Real-time Data - All of the data in the ESR database is exposed through an easy-to-use data browser. What's more is that you can also browse data in real-time using the exact same screen. Sometimes getting the answer you want is most easily obtained by browsing right to it.

User Extensible - We don't limit you to just the reports and queries we thought you would want. We also give you the ability to add your own reports and queries.

Service Explorer

Service Explorer allows Windows NT/2000 administrators to manage multiple services and tasks across multiple servers simultaneously.

Service Explorer fixes the problem of unchanged service accounts that have Domain privileges, by allowing you to change passwords on hundreds of services and tasks located across your network, all in one single operation. Service Explorer fully supports Windows 2000's services as well as Windows NT.

Distinguishing Features:
Multiple service management - Target multiple services on multiple systems in one operation. For example, you can now change the password on hundreds of services spread across your network.

Multiple task management - Using the new task scheduler that comes with Windows 2000 (also distributed with IE4+), individual tasks can now be scheduled to run under a specific account just like a service. Service Explorer now allows you to change the account name and password on multiple tasks across multiple servers simultaneously!

Remote Service Management - Control any service on any server in your network easily with Service Explorer. Easy to use GUI allows you to stop, start, restart, and change any property of services on any system on your network.

Service/Task Search Capability - You can now search your network for any task or service by service/task name or account name. When a service or task that meets the search criteria is found, it is added to the results list so that you can perform operations on all the services and tasks at once.

No agents required - Service Explorer requires no agents to be installed on managed systems.

Remotely Install / Remove Services - Easily install and remove Windows NT/2000 services. You can choose to remove a single service on a single system, or remove ten services on hundreds of systems in one simple operation.

View All Accounts Used On Selected Services - With the click of a button, Service Explorer allows you to see a list of all accounts used by the selected services and change the SAM password for any of those accounts without having to open User Manager.

Set the Account on any Task - Just like services, tasks run under a particular account. Service Explorer allows you to set the account name and password for any task just as you would for a service.
