With WatchTower Automation means automatically discovering new devices, discovering the OS on the devices, discovering the services running on the device, monitoring the services and the device itself, calculating SLA’s, collecting data for historical and real-time graphs without any further configuration, applying industry best practice thresholds with powerful sensitivity adjustments including threshold values, threshold violation counts, re-arm intervals and alarm de-duplication which avoids the alarm storms common with lesser NSM tools.

Automation means identifying any application or service running on a listening TCP service including all web servers, database servers, Java application server, server or service based applications.
Automation means handling traps from monitored devices without manual steps, de-duplication of duplicate traps, the building of complex topology maps and root cause analysis to suppress alarms from downstream devices affected by an outage.
Automation means collecting asset information including OS, node name, patch level and other information depending on the agent being used. For some devices we can pull the serial number and configurations right off the device – without your team lifting a finger. And, of course, sending notifications based on skill sets, duty schedules and escalation paths to ensure the right person is notified and that critical issues don't go overlooked.
