Helping the Community

A central pillar of the XuiS philosophy is the desire for continuous development and improvement, to enable us to live up to our mission statement:

"...   to be recognised throughout EMEA as a leading supplier of best-of-breed systems management software combined with unrivalled support."

It is an unfortunate fact that there are many people in our society who, often through no fault of their own, find it difficult to improve their lives. XuiS is delighted to be able to offer its support to charities that are helping people to help themselves in their struggle to achieve the things most of us simply take for granted.

 Rowing the Atlantic

Richard Hume and Tom Barnes successfully took part in the gruelling Atlantic Rowing Race which, because of unfavourable weather conditions, finally departed in January 2010. Read more...

 Shelter

shelter_logo02In the fourth richest nation in the world, millions of people in Britain wake up every day in housing that is run-down, overcrowded or in danger of being taken away. Bad housing robs them of their security, their health and a fair chance in life. Shelter help 100,000 people a year fight for their rights, get back on their feet, then find and keep a home. They also tackle the root causes of Britain's housing crisis by campaigning for new laws, policies and solutions. Find out more about what they do, how their work is funded and how you can help here.

 The Jubilee Sailing Trust

JST02The aim of the Jubilee Sailing Trust is to promote the integration of able-bodied and physically disabled people through tall ship sailing adventure holidays and associated activities.  The JST believes that all individuals should have the opportunity to sail a tall ship. They seek to provide voyages for individuals who are able-bodied or have physical disabilities. Inability to pay for these voyages should not deter individuals from taking part. All voyagers, who sail with the JST, or work with them, do so on equal terms irrespective of disability. Find out more about the JST here.

XuiS “Captain” Tim Farrow does his time on the deck of the Tenacious for the JST!

As part of XuiS' commitment to actively support both local and national charities our very own skipper, Tim Farrow, was "volunteered" to spend 5 days as voyage crew on a tall ship, the square rigged Tenacious, as she sailed from Poole in Dorset across the English Channel to Cherbourg and then back to Southampton.

I'm pleased to report that he did return to port safely if a little tired and wind-swept!

21 October 2006 was the 200th anniversary of Britain’s greatest naval victory, the Battle of Trafalgar.

The JST ship LORD NELSON is named after Britain’s most famous disabled sailor who died during this battle.

As a symbol of the thousands who have sailed with them over the years and to mark the bicentenary, they have launched their T200K Appeal; the aim is to raise £200K to help in continuing the excellent work in which this organisation excels.

See how you can get involved!
